LinkedIn Outreach in Campaigns (Assisted and Auto)
LinkedIn is where a lot of B2B conversations actually happen, so campaign sequences can include LinkedIn steps alongside email. There are two ways they run: assisted (the default, no setup) and auto-send (after you connect your LinkedIn account). This is part of Campaign Hero.
Assisted mode (default)
With no LinkedIn account connected, a LinkedIn step becomes a task on your list. The AI drafts the note or message using the lead's details and the campaign, you open the profile, paste and send it yourself, then mark the task done. Nothing automated ever touches LinkedIn. This works for everyone and needs no setup.
Auto-send with your connected account
If your workspace has LinkedIn turned on, you can connect your own account under Integrations -> My LinkedIn. Connecting opens LinkedIn's login through our provider (2FA supported); we never see your password, only a token that lets us act on your behalf.
Once connected, LinkedIn steps in your campaigns send automatically:
- The first LinkedIn touch to a lead goes out as a connection invitation with your note (LinkedIn caps notes at 300 characters, so keep them short).
- Later LinkedIn touches go out as messages in the same conversation.
Replies come back into your reply inbox tagged as LinkedIn, and a reply pauses the rest of that lead's sequence, exactly like an email reply. You answer LinkedIn replies on LinkedIn directly.
Staying within LinkedIn's limits
LinkedIn restricts accounts that automate too aggressively. To keep your account safe, sending is deliberately conservative and ramps over four weeks:
- Week 1: about 20 invitations and 30 messages per day.
- Ramping to about 80 invitations and 100 messages per day by week 4.
Sends are also spaced out inside your working hours rather than fired all at once. You own the account, you opt in by connecting, and you can disconnect any time from the My LinkedIn tab, which drops every LinkedIn step back to assisted mode.
Which to use
- Assisted: any account, zero risk, a little manual effort. Good for a handful of high-value profiles.
- Auto-send: connected account, higher throughput, some account risk. Good for running LinkedIn touches across a larger list without hand-sending each one.
